full kit
It would be GREAT if there was a simple kit with the necessary cables, etc. There's a dizzying array of 3rd-party offerings. It says explicitly (somewhere) that what comes in the box is useless on its own.
And there would probably be some cost savings that way as well.59 votes -
HOWTO build a kernel + minimal filesystem including all SGX and DSP stuff
it's a shame having such a Beagleboard (ARMv7, NEON, etc, plus SGX and DSP) and having to fiddle with a number of howto's and kernels and patches...!

Create a simple DSP example.
This page is a good start, but there seem to be a lot of "choices" which confuse people: http://www.ossie.wireless.vt.edu/trac/wiki/BeagleBoard

Create a repository for binary code for lazy BeagleBoard owners
Most of BeagleBoard software (DSP stuff, GStreamer plugin, kernel, utilities, etc.) must be compiled because only source code is available.
What about creating a shared repository where all people can contribute uploading compiled packages for software they compile for themself, among with the reference to the source code and building procedure.

HDMI-CEC connection
Getting access to the CEC pin on the HDMI connector would open up some integration possibilities with home theater. If the required 27k resistor with an open collector driver is not an option, a solder point on the board would be helpful.

Make this website a common repository for toolchain/kernel/apps
Ala blackfin.uclinux.org, make this website a common repository for BB-specific cross-toolchains (armv7/DSP), kernel and apps. I think that some apps may have bb-omap-specific improvements through the use of DSP.

Next version of the BeagleBoard needs to be thinner!
This is not meant to step on anybody’s toes; I think the BeagleBoard is a great idea. That said this thing is much too thick. I would like to use one to build my own tablet. I’ve seen it done already, but every one of them has come out looking like an ugly brick. I’m sure I’m not the only one that’s noticed. I can think of two solutions to this problem. The connecters on the board are soldered directly on top of the PCB making it rather tall. One way to get around this would be to embed the…

Ti supply a BSP for the core for CE7, but not for the beagle
Ti supply a BSP for the core for CE7, but not for the beagleboard.
This is a significant misleading from beagle, shipped with CE7 binary demo image..HAH that image is completely useless, cant even play a MP3 audio !! non persistent filesystem, no VR, no up to date CF....
Beagle board please make it clear that this board will required additional purchase to be able to develop software for wince 6 and 7
$500 the cheapest BSP I found so far and absolutely cant find anyone who might sale me a binary image built to my specs !!

Add a VGA output port
Almost all LCD monitors have a VGA input so one need not buy a DVI monitor specially for BB to work.

Support for a larger touch screen
Most people seem more interested in a 7 inch or 10 inch screen, but my interest is for something much larger. I'm looking for components to build a touchpad with a much larger screen like 17 or 19 inches. I'm thinking more of using a touch surface for drawing applications and not so much for gaming, or watching movies or stuff like that.

Can the AM335X support 1000BASE-X communication?
I want to develop the 10000BASE-x between two AM3359. Does the IC support the 1000BASE-X?

perhaps have an FPGA on the BeagleBoard as a programmable coprocessor?
To accelerate or offload software applications like packet processing, video de/encoding, etc. it would be nice to have an FPGA on the board that users can play with. That would involve having to put programming interfaces for the FPGA / CPLD and possibly lead to power supply issues. Just thought it would be nice to have.
